Dubai wins ‘Middle East’s Leading Airport’ award

DUBAI, May 10, 2015

Dubai International Airport has been named the Middle East’s Leading Airport at the 22nd World Travel Awards which was held recently in Dubai, UAE.

This is the 15th consecutive year that the world’s busiest international hub has claimed the award, said a statement from the airport.

Anita Mehra, vice president, communications and business development, said: “Our collaborative efforts involving thousands of employees and also the close co-ordination with many partner organisations are the key to providing a smooth experience to the 70 million passengers that pass through our hub annually.

“We continue to invest heavily in new facilities and services with a view to helping ease passengers’ journeys through Dubai International while providing world-class options for dining, shopping or relaxing,” she said.

“This award is testimony to our efforts and an indication of our intent to be not just the busiest but also the best,” Mehra added.

The World Travel Awards was established in 1993 to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all sectors of the travel industry, it stated. – TradeArabia News Service
