AQIA names bidders for 'meet & assist' services

Amman, September 28, 2013

The Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) and its joint venture partner Royal Jordanian have been named the preferred bidders for providing the 'Meet & Assist' services at Jordan’s premier gateway Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA).

Airport International Group (AIG), the Jordanian company responsible for the rehabilitation, expansion and operation of QAIA, said the decision was taken following a comprehensive bidding process, which involved strict and transparent evaluation in order to ensure that bidders fulfilled preset technical and financial criteria, in line with international standards.

The tender was addressed to local, regional and international service providers alike, said a statement from the AIG.

AIG chief executive officer Kjeld Binger said, “Our main priority has always been the delivery of a unique travel experience for passengers at QAIA, which falls in line with our aim of positioning the airport as an ideal choice for leisure and business travelers, as well as a convenient transfer hub in the region."

"For this purpose, our service providers are determined via open tenders that allow the participation of qualified entities," stated Binger.

"We are confident that the range of services offered by our new partners including passenger escort, shuttle, porter and packing services will further facilitate the journeys of our travelers," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
