Batelco backs 2014 air show

Batelco signed an agreement on Friday announcing its support for the next edition of the 'Bahrain International Airshow,' to be held in 2014.

The MoU was signed by Batelco chairman Shaikh Hamad bin Abdulla Al Khalifa and Supreme Organising Committee for BIAS 2012 vice-president Captain Abdulrahman Al Gaoud at BIAS 2012, which is currently taking place at the Sakhir Air Base.

Shaikh Hamad said Batelco was honoured to have been an official sponsor and telecoms partner for the 2010 event and again this year.

"The organising committee and all the authorities concerned have done an excellent job in delivering these events of world-class standards that highlight Bahrain in a positive way," he said.

Captain Al Gaoud said the Civil Aviation Affairs was delighted to have Batelco's support at BIAS 2012 following their invaluable contribution towards the success of the inaugural event in 2010.

"Batelco is a national company that provides the highest quality telecommunications services both in Bahrain and abroad and their co-operation has been invaluable in meeting all the communications requirements in 2010 and again this year," he said.

"Events of such calibre allow Bahrain to demonstrate to the international business community the outstanding capabilities offered by organisations such as the CAA and Batelco in Bahrain," he added.

Meanwhile, Batelco senior executives yesterday received National Guard chief Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa and BIAS 2012 chairman Shaikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa, who visited the company's chalet at the show.

Shaikh Hamad, Batelco Group chief executive Shaikh Mohamed bin Isa Al Khalifa and Batelco chief executive Bahrain Rashid Abdulla were present.

Shaikh Abdulla was briefed on Batelco's high definition Video-on-Demand over 4G/LTE which is being showcased at the chalet.-TradeArabia News Service
