New 4-star hotel to come up in Iraq

Faruk Group Holding, a leading Iraqi conglomerate, has announced the launch of its first four-star hotel, Copthorne Hotel, Baranan in tourist district of Sulaymaniyah in Iraq.

The Copthorne Hotel Baranan is an international boutique hotel built on an area of 1320 sq m in Sulaymaniyah, said a company statement.

The seven-storey hotel offers a contemporary setting with 72 guest rooms, 6 suites, 8 service rooms and 7 elevators all in a built-up area of 9198 sq m, it added.

The amenities include meeting rooms, an all day dining restaurant, an Italian restaurant and a cigar bar and a duplex entertainment center.

Commenting on the occasion, Faruk Mustafa Rasool, chairman of Faruk Group said: 'Launching Copthorne Hotel is another step in our strategic expansion plans as Iraq's largest and most respected private company.'

Faruk group has a diversified range of interests including telecommunications, cement manufacturing, hotels, medical services, properties, construction and IT.
