Banyan Tree opens RAK desert resort

Ras Al Khaimah, April 19, 2010

Banyan Tree Holdings, a leading manager and developer of premium resorts, hotels and spas across the globe, has officially launched its exclusive desert resort in Ras Al Khaimah.

The new resort, Banyan Tree Al Wadi was jointly opened by Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud Al Qasimi, son of Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah and Ho Kwon Ping, executive chairman of Banyan Tree Hotels and Resorts in the presence of members of the Al Qasimi royal family, business partners, stakeholders and service associates.

Afer the ribon-cutting ceremony, the guests were ushered into the resort accompanied by traditional Arabic music and dance performed by children of the local community, said a statement from Banyan Tree.

Ho in his welcome speech thanked Dr Khater Massaad, executive chairman of Rakeen Development for being a visionary partner in this resort project. The event then concluded with a magnificent falcon display which delighted the audience.

The high-profile guest list included Dileep Nair, Consul-General of the Republic of Singapore; Pasan Teparak, Consul-General of the Kingdom of Thailand; as well as senior members of the banking and finance, and tourism industry.-TradeArabia News Service
