‘Eid in Dubai’ gets off to a festive start tomorrow (December 8), with a line-up of family entertainment events, shows, fireworks, and a mega raffle draw that will give away a whopping Dh3 million in cash prizes.

The Eid Al Adha edition, organised by Dubai Shopping Festival Office, will see festivities across a wide region of Dubai with numerous events being organised in Dubai Mall, Dubai Festival City, Airport Expo Dubai, and other leading malls in the emirate.

‘Eid in Dubai’ attractions include ‘Noddy and the Treasure Map’, which will feature elaborate stage settings, songs, and an interesting story line and The Heritage Zone at Dubai Festival City which will host music shows that reflect the festive spirit of the occasion.

Programs at the Dubai Mall will include, apart from the Eidyat Dubai Mega Raffle, five shows for children and families - The Comic Roller Act, The Star Wars Act, The Break Dancers Acrobat Show, The Mattiamaci  (Jugglers Comic act), and The Mask of Venice Show.

A spectacular fireworks show will be held at the Dubai Festival City waterfront during all the three days of Eid.

Following the traditional way of welcoming visitors during Eid, the popular ‘Fuwalla’ will feature prominently in various malls in Dubai. Each mall entrance will have volunteers offering tea, coffee and dates to visitors who will also be given invitations to visit an exclusive Eid tent and savour traditional sweets. The Fuwalla will run during the four days of Eid.

Global Village events include pavilions hosting specially organised events to celebrate Eid. Each pavilion will organise traditional dance and heritage shows during the four days of Eid. 

Activities include music bands from different regions and countries including UAE, Oman, Mexico, the Caribbean, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, India, Egypt, Lebanon, Morocco, and Africa.

A specially organised carnival and camel riding will also feature as part of Eid events at Global Village in addition to solo musicians in various locations.-TradeArabia News Service
