The ongoing Shopper Smart Living showcased the Smart Home Experience Zone, inviting visitors to experience the simplicity, comfort and convenience of a connected home firsthand – being able to control the latest smart home appliances with just an internet connection and a mobile device.
Designed to look like a high-tech dream home, the Smart Home Experience Zone is a dedicated area that demonstrates the user-friendliness of smart home systems, offering visitors an opportunity to go hands-on with the latest innovations in smart home technology.
A feature of the highly popular four-day Shopper Smart Living, co-located with Gitex Shopper Spring 2016 and running till April 2 at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), the zone is an attraction for tech enthusiasts and savvy shoppers who are eager to learn about the practical applications of smart home technology and witness it in action, including connected security devices, home automation kits, next-generation security cameras, intelligent household sensors, alarms and much more.
With the proliferation of mobile devices and internet connectivity in everyday life, the smart home concept has picked up momentum as smartphones increasingly become the central hub of connected home technology, said a statement.
More than 91 per cent of the UAE population are reported as using one last year and by 2022, a typical family home is predicted to contain more than 500 smart devices.
