Canon Middle East brings printing push to Africa
DUBAI, December 16, 2015
Canon, a leader in imaging solutions, is increasing its presence in Africa, with its range of business solutions.
Its printing solutions include large format inkjet, laser inkjet, UV flatbed and colour, and black and white printing solutions, and now it is increasingly eyeing the vast African markets.
Demonstrating its commitment to Africa’s printing industry and highlighting the value it can offer to customers, Canon recently took part in Siagra Africa 2015, in Morocco, a four-day exposition dedicated to the graphic arts and packaging industries.
While developed economies remain static or sluggish this year, Africa is seen as a growth market, with emerging economies keen to take advantage of the competitive advantage offered by companies like Canon.
In Ernst & Young's Attractiveness Survey, Africa 2015, Rajiv Memani, chairman, EY Global Emerging Markets Committee, said: “We remain confident that, despite economic headwinds, the “Africa rising” narrative remains intact and sustainable.”
Hendrik Verbrugghe, marketing director, Canon Middle East, said: “Africa is a key market for Canon. SIAGRA was a fantastic opportunity for us to not only meet with customers and partners but also give visitors insight into the incredible new solutions that are currently being developed by our R&D teams across the globe.
“Canon’s ambition is to be the leading full service provider in the professional and production printing space, across Africa and the world. Canon will invest the necessary resources to enable our growing number of African customers to take full advantage of our innovations in hardware, software and professional services.”
The Canon stand at Siagra was divided into four sections - professional print, signage, photo and fine art and computer-aided design and geographic information system (CAD/GIS), with each section showcasing a different printing solution.
In the production print section, Canon displayed imagePress C800 and varioPrint 135 printer.
Within the CAD/GIS applications, Canon displayed
imagePrograf iPF770, imagePrograf iPF830, PlotWave 340 and ColorWave 500.
For the signage industry, Canon exhibited Océ Arizona 460 GT, while it showcase imagePrograf w8400 to cater to the special needs of the fine arts and photography industry. - TradeArabia News Service
