$9m sound system, Batmobile for Big Boys Toys
ABU DHABI, November 3, 2015
Batman’s ‘Tumbler’ Batmobile and a $9-million gold sound system will be the top highlights of the sixth edition of the luxury lifestyle super show, Big Boys Toys 2015, to be held in Abu Dhabi this month.
The event will be held in Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (Adnec) from November 18 to 21.
Inspired by the vehicle made famous by Christian Bale’s Caped Crusader trilogy, the Dh3 million ($816,600) ‘Tumbler’ boasts a V8, 5.7-litre Chevrolet Corvette engine and propane tanks which shoot fire.
“The Tumbler Batmobile is a perfect fit for Big Boys Toys – an event which collects vehicles, gadgets and technologies which stretch the imagination, rewrite rule books and give people of all ages that childlike sense of fun, awe and wonder,” said Biju Jayaraaj, chief executive officer of Artaaj Events, the company that owns and organises Big Boys Toys.
“Since 2009, Big Boys Toys has provided our loyal fans from across the UAE and wider region with the ultimate playground of bespoke and some of the rarest luxury lifestyle products.”
Big Boys Toys will feature a diverse collection of cutting-edge technology and lifestyle products displayed by more than 200 local, regional and international exhibitors from over 17 countries. Several of those products went on display today in a sneak media preview two weeks before the event opens at Adnec.
Abu Dhabi-based Le Vault, which curates limited edition objects for discerning, high-end collectors, will exhibit its signature U.F.O lounge rocking chair – a carbon fibre product with a handmade leather seat inspired by space capsules that withstand extreme temperatures on re-entry to the Earth’s atmosphere.
The Schiller S1-C – a bold new product that lets rider literally cycle on water – will also debut at Big Boys Toys 2015. Designed for use on both fresh water lakes and coastal seas, the S1-C uses inflatable pontoons and a revolutionary propulsion system to provide sustained speeds of seven-to-eight kilometres per hour and top speeds in excess of 11 km per hour. Assembly takes under 10 minutes and the S1-C is easy to transport and store in both land vehicles and yacht holds.
Japanese firm Valorado will showcase the River’s Tone, a $9 million luxury sound system made using 60 kg of gold and diamonds. Designed and built using technologies invented by former Sony visionary, Michio Sakamoto, the system is the only one-of-its-type in the world.
‘PARO’, a baby seal robot first developed for robot therapy in 1993 in Japan, is also Abu Dhabi-bound. More than 3,500 PARO robots are currently at work in hospitals and care facilities in over 30 countries. Used as an alternative to animal therapy, the clinically proven product aids Autism and dementia patients, and alleviates mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety and loneliness.
This year's event will feature a number of customised motorcycles including a one-of-a-kind Harley Davidson V-Rod with the largest front (260mm) and rear (360mm) tyres ever installed. Built in Abu Dhabi by 86 Cycles, the motorcycle will go on sale for Dh500,000.
86 Cycles will also exhibit a custom-built Chopper featuring a 120 cubic inch engine, 360mm rear tyre and custom art paint job of more than 750 skulls across the entire motorcycle. Selling for Dh300,000, the Chopper also boasts an exhaust built by US legend, Frankie Serrano, who has built wild exhausts for Sylvester Stallone and Orange County Choppers – the stars of Discovery Channel’s hit TV show, American Chopper.
Big Boys Toys’ list of motoring mean machines already includes a $1.5 million, two-seat, mid-engine de Macross Epique GT1 supercar, a $350,000 Bienville Legacy motorcycle and a $250,000 custom-made Gold Digger motorcycle by L.J Miller, amongst others.

Other exciting interactive experiences include a digital shooting, simulation, archery and the interactive war field - the quintessential close quarter battleground in Airsoft warfare, offering fans a real-life rendition of their favourite First-person-shooter (FPS) video games.
