Iran drones target Bahrain desalination plant, university building

A water desalination plant and a university building were targeted in a Iranian drone attack this morning on several civilian facilities, according to the Bahrain's Ministry of Interior.

These buildings sustained material damage but no loss of life was reported.

"As a result of the blatant Iranian aggression, 3 people were injured and material damage was inflicted on a university building in the Muharraq area after missile fragments fell," said the ministry in its X post.

Saudi targeted with fresh wave of missile

Meanwhile SPA reported that Saudi Arabia’s air defences neutralised a fresh wave of Iranian drone attacks today (March 8) showing no signs of abating despite Tehran’s conciliatory gestures on Saturday.

This follows a relentless barrage yesterday in which the kingdom’s air defences intercepted and destroyed 21 drones headed toward Aramco’s Shaybah oil field deep in the Rub’ al-Khali desert, as well as five ballistic missiles fired at various times during the day.

Saudi Ministry of Defence said the attempted attacks with three drones were thwarted after their shootdown in the city of Riyadh.

Spokesperson for the Ministry of Defence Major General Turki Al Maliki said in posts on X that 13 drones were intercepted and destroyed east of Riyadh, while eight more were shot down shortly after entering Saudi airspace.
