Trolley launches virtual store service in Dubai

Trolley, an online grocery store in Dubai, has launched the first-of-its-kind virtual store service in the Middle East that allows 3D shopping experience in Dubai Metro, in co-operation with Etisalat and the RTA.
 
The work began on the first virtual store in the Mall of the Emirates two days ago, with a plan to install a new Virtual Store at another station every month, said a statement.
 
Omar Awwad, chief executive of Trolley, said: “Dubai is a fast paced busy city with people rushing about their busy lives. Many people do not have enough time in their day to spend precious hours grocery shopping. This is where Trolley Virtual Store is stepping in to make people’s lives easier by enabling them to access a shop while on the go.”
 
Trolley is a virtual store in Dubai Metro Station with a 3D touch screen 3.5M x 2M. They will be able to pick up the items from the store shelves and place them in their shopping cart, then check out all the items and choose the suitable delivery time and location.
 
Awwad pointed out this unique service provides an opportunity to exploit the waiting time in shopping, while waiting for the metro, commuters can now shop for their groceries using the virtual store screen inside the metro stations. 
 
It’s a 3D experience where people can view the store as if they’re walking into a real one. Through the use of screen virtual store inside the metro stations as if they were shopping in a real supermarket.
 
Dubai Metro stations that will host Trolley stores: the Mall of the Emirates, Dubai Internet City, Damac (Dubai Marina), the financial center (DIFC), Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (Karama), and Bani Yas Square, Awwad highlighted.
 
“People are looking for something that makes their life easier. After a long busy day, shopping with your hands is maybe the last thing you want to do, so Trolley helps you manage your time by providing an online Virtual Store to shop at your convenience.  Giving you more time to do other things that you like to do,” he added.
 
Trolley service has been currently limited to Dubai only, with aspirations to expand in Abu Dhabi and the rest of Gulf states. - TradeArabia News Service
