ZTE's Blade D6 and SmartHome

ZTE unveils Blade D6, SmartHome at Shanghai event

SHANGHAI, July 15, 2015

ZTE, a leading global mobile device maker, has unveiled the ZTE Blade D6 and its first ever smart home gateway, the ZTE SmartHome, at the ongoing Mobile World Congress Shanghai 2015.

The two devices are on display at ZTE’s stand until July 17 at the Shanghai New International Expo Center, alongside a range of other innovative ZTE smart devices.

Weighing just 120g and at 6.95mm thin, the five-inch high-definition ZTE Blade D6 squeezes premium performance into a slim and lightweight high-grade 6013 aluminium alloy body.

The Blade D6 runs off a quad-core 1.3GHz chipset and 2GB of RAM, and comes out of the box with Android 5.0 Lollipop with the latest rendition of ZTE’s customisable user interface – MiFavor 3.2.

Designed with selfie lovers in mind, the Blade D6 sports an 88-degree wide-angle five-megapixel (MP) front facing camera, and its ultra-high-definition 13MP rear camera comes with True Tone flash.

A number of pre-installed photography features, such as beautification options, a smile shutter function, high definition continuous shooting and auto panorama, add to the device’s premium camera experience.

A unique feature to the ZTE Blade D6 is its ‘3 in 2’ innovative tray holder that can accommodate a micro SIM, as well as either an additional nano SIM or a micro SD card, all in the same tray holder.

Meanwhile, the ZTE SmartHome will enable users to communicate with everyday home devices from light switches to baby monitors via wireless protocol, ZigBee, and as well as 4G LTE connections.

A mobile application for smartphones and tablets will allow quick and easy control over a broad range of smart home devices, covering home management, home security, and health and safety.

Adam Zeng, chief executive officer, said: “We’re delighted to unveil both our first ever smart home gateway and the latest rendition in our affordable premium Blade series at this year’s Mobile World Congress Shanghai.

“The smart home revolution is fast upon us, and our strong track record in R&D has allowed us to deliver an innovative product to support this emerging trend.” - TradeArabia News Service
