FLASHBACK: One of First Target’s previous fashion exhibitions
Eid expo to set fashion styles in Bahrain
MANAMA, June 1, 2015
A new annual fashion exhibition featuring clothes and accessories to be worn during Eid celebrations will be launched later this month in Bahrain.
The inaugural Fashion Time expo will be held at Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre (BIECC) in Sanabis from June 25 to 27, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.
Featuring clothes and accessories from more than 120 exhibitors for men, women and children, it is envisaged by event organisers First Target as an annual exhibition providing a place for all the family to get their Eid Al Fitr outfits.
"We have been holding exhibitions in Bahrain since 2007," First Target chief executive Yousif Dawood told the GDN.
"We started at the Muharraq Club, then moved to hotels until the market got better and eventually we came to the convention centre.
"We aim to attract more investors and provide for the market.
"Any sort of movement in the economy is beneficial to us all, so we've invited investors from the GCC, and some from other Arab countries and even Europe to attend the expo.
"We have also sent invitations to embassies in Bahrain."
Dawood said that Fashion Time would feature prominent brands such as Marks & Spencers and La Senza.
"We will have clothes for men, women, children, as well as accessories and bags, things like that," he said.
"We'll try to reflect market prices and have incremental pricing so that everyone can find something at the price point they need.
"We will have international companies, as well as local Bahraini shops, international companies and participants from the Bahrain Productive Families programme."
Prizes, including a three-day trip to Dubai, will also be given away at the event, Dawood said.
"This isn't the first fashion exhibition we've held, but it's the first time it's been this big and under this name," he said.
"We want to make it an annual event and have it be even bigger next time, with a fashion show.
"This year, we have 128 participants, including 40 Bahraini Productive Families, some Bahraini designers for abayas and perfume and accessories shops.
"We're holding it during Ramadan just before Eid Al Fitr, because people are getting ready for Eid - so we are giving them everything they need to shop for in one place."
The expo, which runs from 3pm until past midnight, will also host several food outlets for people to break their fast. - TradeArabia News Service
