Dubai Culture goes ‘smart’ with Xerox print solutions

DUBAI, May 20, 2015

Dubai Culture and Arts Authority is going ‘smart’ with its printing solutions, in line with the continuous endeavour of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to transform Dubai into a 'Smart City.’

The emirate’s dedicated entity to promoting heritage, culture and the arts is optimising its printing environment and streamlining its workflow efficiency by 20 per cent led by a 74 per cent reduction of the equipment fleet and automated supplies order system using Managed Print Services (MPS) tools from Xerox Emirates, a leader in technology, document management and consulting services.

Xerox enterprise-class MPS solutions – consisting of 66 devices of two different models installed at the Dubai Culture’s premises have proved to enable cost savings with easy monitoring and control over the entire printing infrastructure in addition to enhanced document security, said a statement.

By implementing the new Xerox MPS tools, Dubai Culture has successfully addressed a number of challenges that indirectly affected the overall workflow efficiency experienced previously.

These printing management tools will allow effective monitoring and control of the entire print system in the organisation by providing a broad overview of who is printing, and what.

It will allow for quick tracking and monitoring of printing and copying expenditures making it an effective instrument in reducing wastage and costs.

Mohamed Yousif Al-Hammadi, infrastructure and technical support manager, Dubai Culture, said: “The new printers offer superior performance and print capabilities for different types of documents. As a result the printing process becomes more efficient, less expensive and helps manage service maintenance proactively. This in turn enables the IT team to devote more time on critical tasks and initiatives that serve the core activities of Dubai Culture.

“We are committed to achieving innovation solutions based on latest best practices in technical services. Our goal is to make these solutions available for all employees, with a focus on reducing operating costs, and to provide better services for customers and raise customer specification and happiness.”

Andrew Horne, general manager at Xerox Emirates, said: “Xerox Emirates always aims to support its customers in streamlining their work processes, thereby allowing them to focus on their real business objectives and demands.

“By providing Dubai Culture with Xerox  cutting-edge Managed Print Services tools, we were able to ensure that the organisation’s print management was streamlined though the introduction of productive printing devices from one vendor and a single point of contact for all equipment-related issues.”

The system is based on a centralised administration console to manage all printing processes which contributes to reducing costs and streamlining operations.

This console can verify ink and paper consumption and anticipate security breaches that can help to maintain accuracy easily. - TradeArabia News Service
