MUSCAT, May 14, 2015
Omani Products Exhibition (Opex 2015) is set to kick-off in Saudi Arabia as part of a campaign to promote locally manufacture products abroad.
The exhibition, which will run from May 18 to 21 at the Jeddah Centre for Forums and Events, is aimed at presenting an apt platform to introduce high quality Omani products and vital Omani industries to the companies and consumers in the city, said a statement.
Ayman Al Hasani, chairman of Opex Organising Committee and vice chairman of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), said: "We aspire at creating new markets and open prospects for further collaborations between companies from the two countries.
It will be the biggest in terms of participations compared to the three previous exhibitions, he said.
"This year, around 130 Omani firms will take part, of which 100 are industrial firms, 20 are SMEs, and 10 specialised handicraft industries," he added.
Organised by a committee formed by the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE), Public Authority for Investment Promotion and Export Development (Ithraa), and Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), the exhibition endeavours to promote Omani products and increase their exports to the strategic market of Jeddah, said the statement.
The exhibition in Jeddah aims at building upon the success of the previous exhibitions held in Dubai, Doha and Riyadh, through presenting an ultimate platform to introduce high quality Omani products to the visitors, it added. - TradeArabia News Service
