Emirati designer shines at Bahrain fashion show
MANAMA, December 25, 2014
Nazek Al Sabbagh, renowned UAE fashion designer, showcased the best of 2014 collections at ‘Khareef 2015’ (which means Fall 2015), a fashion exhibition in Bahrain that featured collections from six leading GCC designers.
The only representative from the UAE, Al Sabbagh has put on display 100 designs under the iconic label ‘Zari O’ Breesam’.
Dresses from the enormously successful Al Hasabi Collection (‘precious Gulf pearls’) were showcased at the three-day event.
“We were extremely happy to be back in Bahrain for this high-end fashion event. This follows our successful efforts to establish a strong regional and international presence over the past three years through our participation in many fashion shows, including some prestigious ones in Milan and London,” stated Al Sabbagh.
The ‘Al Hasabi’ collection celebrates the beauty of Gulf women through the magnificent colors of the pearls, she explained.
Representing marine elements, Al Sabbagh has used funky colors, including shades of pearl as well as colours of the Gulf waters, such as blue, dark blue and green.
The elaborate hand embroidery is also an essential part of the displayed collection, she said.
“Our main production line focus on dresses, but the year 2014 signified a shift toward more funky designs. We have created designs on shawls and shorter dresses with leggings to be more comfortable for the practical woman. In Bahrain, we are showcasing the best from our collections," she added.-TradeArabia News Service
