BenQ to launch 21.5-inch touchscreen monitor

BenQ, a global human technology and solutions provider, is set to launch its latest Cloud Monitor, an integrated, interactive 21.5-inch touchscreen monitor which aims to meet the region’s cloud computing requirements in the coming years.
The new BenQ Android AIO PT2200 Cloud Monitor is equipped with Full HD and high-quality VA panel that can be used with or without a PC with Wi-Fi & LAN connectivity, a statement said.
The monitor has been designed to extend the physical space of retail locations on screen, showcasing the entire line-up of merchandise with detailed information and promotional content that can be updated immediately and frequently.
“Cloud computing is predicted to expand dramatically in the next few years in the Gulf countries,” said Manish Bakshi, managing director, BenQ Middle East and Africa, who was citing a recent report by the International Data Corporation (IDC).
“As such, BenQ is capitalising on this growing need for cloud computing products with a range of cloud monitors that can provide functionality and mobility. BenQ’s new PT2200 Cloud Monitor allows users to be always on the go, using high-capacity of free cloud storage for convenient access to work files, real-time music and video streaming,” he added.
With the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system, the PT2200 cloud monitor has over hundred-thousands of downloadable apps and games on Google play and can be wirelessly controlled by any mobile device such as tablets and smartphones. The monitor turns into a smart display or a large Android tablet that allows photos to be sent over the network to its onboard storage, or on a cloud storage package that BenQ provides.
“BenQ PT2200 Customizable Display with BenQ X-Sign Signage APP, can customize and manage what is to be showcased. From the latest advertisement to captivating content, the PT2200 gives the freedom to engage customers creatively in simple and easy steps,” Bakshi said.
The BenQ PT2200 offers a resolution of 1920x1080 and is powered by a Quad Core 1.6GHz supported by 1GB of RAM and 8GB of on-board storage. Other features include two USB ports, one micro USB port, a micro SD card slot, and an HDMI connection.
