20 countries back Abu Dhabi jewellery show
Abu Dhabi, March 10, 2014
More than 190 exhibitors and brands to the capital from 20 countries will showcase innovative jewellery and watch designs at an upcoming exhibition in Abu Dhabi.
The International Jewellery and Watch Show (JWS) Abu Dhabi, an exclusive and high-end jewellery and watch event featuring leading designers and international brands, will run from March 13 to 17 at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.
In its 22nd edition, JWS Abu Dhabi continues to attract renowned names from across the globe who will display bespoke gemstone, diamond, gold and silver jewellery over floor space of 10,000 sq m, 13 per cent higher than the previous edition.
Raya Dandal, JWS show manager at Reed Exhibitions, said: “JWS has established a strong reputation in the region as a go-to event for fashion aficionados and jewellery fans. Over the years, it has continued to attract the interest of prestigious brands both locally and internationally. The 22nd edition will feature wider exhibitor and brand participation, a total of 190. We anticipate an equally good response from shoppers and visitors.”
“We added a new feature to the event last year – the EBDA’A Award - which encouraged nationals, particularly students with artistic interests to bring forth their creativity in jewellery designing. This year, once again, we have received a lot of submissions from young and talented jewellery designers. Winners of the jewellery design competition will be announced at the show on March 14 at 6:30 pm,” she noted.
Added attraction to the show includes a raffle draw and a chance for every visitor to win a brand new Fiat 500 car, sponsored by Western Motors, authorised distributor of Jeep & Fiat in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
“Western Motors is a proud Platinum Sponsor of the JWS 2014. We believe it is particularly important for us to represent the Fiat brand among the visitors of the show. The Fiat brand symbolizes art and creativity, matching the products exhibited in the JWS and the personalities of the visitors,” said Mohammad Almomani, general manager of Western Motors.
“Furthermore, Italians are widely known for their exquisite jewelry further emphasizing our partnership. For this reason, and in collaboration with the JWS, we are raffling off one of our most popular models – the funky and sporty Fiat 500.”
Visitors will also stand a chance to win other exciting prizes, including diamond jewellery set from Mohammed Rasool Khoory & Sons, Rotana hotel stay, branded watches and much more.
The five day show will host complimentary interactive seminar sessions for visitors, conducted by experienced representatives from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). The sessions will cover a range of interesting topics that will benefit both consumers and traders. The topics will include sessions on how to distinguish diamonds and gemstones, seven value factors of pearls, synthetic diamonds and many more.
Nirupa Bhatt, managing director of GIA in India and Middle East, said: “We are pleased to work with JWS to offer our expertise in gems and jewellery to the show’s exhibitors, represented brands and visitors. By expanding our GD Diploma programme in the Middle East, we are bringing world-class education right to the doorstep of industry aspirants and professionals.” – TradeArabia News Service
