Toshiba unveils new touchscreen laptop

Dubai, February 4, 2014

Toshiba Gulf has launched its newest touch-enabled laptop with a 10-point capacitive display delivering maximum accessibility and quick navigation.

Thin, light, and durable, the 14-inch Satellite U40t comes in an elegant Silver colour and has a stylish metal finish, a statement said.

Santosh Varghese, general manager of Digital Products and Services at Toshiba Gulf, said: “It’s only 21.10 mm at its thinnest and 1.9 kg at its lightest so it delivers the portability required by on-the-go professionals, entrepreneurs and students. The latest Intel processors and graphics cards provide the smooth performance required by editors and multimedia enthusiasts. The Satellite U40t also has a metal chassis for increased durability.”

Available in Windows 8.1, the Satellite U40t features an LCD screen for vivid visuals and accurate colour reproduction. A cinematic viewing experience is achieved through the Satellite U40t’s 16:9 aspect ratio and HD display.

Customisable integrated and dedicated graphics by Intel and Nvidia offer users an unparalleled graphics performance, a smooth HD video playback and a responsive gaming experience. The Satellite U40t features wireless display technology so users can effortlessly stream movies from the laptop to an HDTV or display a business presentation through a big screen in the conference room.

The Satellite U40t comes with a complete set of full-size ports including two USB 3.0 ports, a USB 2.0 port, an SD card slot and HDMI for multiple backup and connectivity options. Up to seven hours of battery life is possible on the Satellite U40t, improving portability and convenience for users, as they do not need to charge the device frequently, the statement said.

Encased in a stylish, metal chassis for maximum durability, the Satellite U40t is equipped with the latest software security features including Toshiba Password Utility and HDD Password Security. The Intel version comes with anti-theft technology that allows users to lock down their lost or stolen laptop remotely, protecting their files from unauthorised access.

The Satellite U40t’s Intel Identity Protection Technology offers a tamper-resistant method for protecting customer and business data against threats and fraud.

Toshiba also equipped the Satellite U40t with PC Health Monitor, an easy-to-read graphical overview of the machine’s temperature, fan speed and battery condition. – TradeArabia News Service
