Waitrose closes two outlets in Bahrain

Manama, November 11, 2013

High-end supermarket chain Waitrose has closed two of its outlets in Bahrain, a report said.

They include one at The Lagoon, Amwaj Islands, which was the first Waitrose in the country when it opened in February 2011, reported the Gulf Daily News, our sister publication.

The other was located at The Walk, Riffa, and was only opened in March.

Other Waitrose outlets at Jawad Dome, Barbar, and The Centre, Nuwaidrat, were still open as usual yesterday.

Nobody from the Dubai-based Fine Fare Food Market, which runs Waitrose's daily operations in Bahrain, was available for comment, the report said. – TradeArabia News Service
