Abaya boutique opens in Sharjah

Sharjah, June 4, 2011

Rouge Couture, a cutting edge Abaya and Jalabya boutique offering free size designs, has opened its outlet at the Corniche area in Sharjah.

The boutique, owned by Sara Al Madani from the UAE and her friend Apple Wang from China, is the latest women’s enterprise set up with the help of Sharjah Business Women Council (SBWC).

The new outlet was created by the duo who 'worked together to create a Fusion of Arabian and Chinese design, which brings a unique trend and style tailored with class and elegance.'

Speaking at the opening, Sheikha Bodour Bint Sultan Al Qasimi, chairperson of Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq), said the empowerment of Emirati women in all fields, especially economy, is a true translation of the vision and sound directives of the UAE's wise leadership.

'The status attained by UAE women in all fields has enabled them to participate in the nation's development on an equal footing with their male counterparts in many fields,' remarked Sheikha Bodour.

She lauded the efforts of SBWC in supporting women's economical role, and called on other women to join the council and benefit from the support and facilities it extends to help them implement vital enterprises that enhance women's role in the sustainable development in the country.

Sheikha Bodour said, 'Women play a central role in the development of the society and in building nations, as they complement men's role in boosting economic development.'

Ameera Abdelrahim Binkaram, chairperson said SBWC was studying other projects which were expected to be launched by the end of this year.

She urged women entrepreneurs to join forces under the umbrella of the council and benefit from its support and guidance to establish and nurture their businesses.

The SBWC aims to encourage women’s contribution in the development process in the UAE in general and Sharjah in particular.

“This urges us to empower women entrepreneurs to identify and achieve their ambitions in both traditional and non-traditional sectors in the UAE as we seek to develop a new generation of innovative and creative entrepreneurs,” Binkaram said.

A trendy fashion show was later held to showcase a number of exclusive Abaya and Jalabiyas collection by the designers Sara and Apple.-TradeArabia News Service
