LG unveils wireless home cinema

Manama, December 23, 2010

LG Electronics (LG), a major player in the audio-video devices market, has introduced a high performance home cinema system which includes wireless surround sound speakers and an integrated Blu-ray player.

“LG’s HB994PK home cinema system is in a class of its own,” said H S Paik, president of LG Electronics Gulf. “Its design is as much of a statement as the incredible audio and video quality. Our HB994PK offers a gorgeous new design and ground-breaking wireless technology perfectly suited to sophisticated homes.”

The HB994PK includes two front speakers, two rear speakers and a subwoofer, all connecting wirelessly. In total, the system outputs 1,000 watts of power.

The speakers are wrapped in sophisticated punched metal, which gives them clean, gently curving lines without distorting the sound in any way, a statement said.

A vertical slot-loading Blu-ray player is built into the front right speaker, which automatically begins playing a disc when inserted.

Because it is wireless, setting up the HB994PK is easy, according to the statement. The front speakers and subwoofer all stand independently. The two rear speakers connect to a wireless module that can easily hide under a sofa. It only needs an HDMI cable to connect to the TV and a power cord. – TradeArabia News Service
