Epson launches ‘ultra portable’ projectors
Dubai, November 3, 2010
Epson, a leader in the projector market, has launched a range of projectors offering a combination of bright, high-quality images with a lightweight, slimline design.
The new EB-1750, EB-1760W, EB-1770W and EB-1775W projectors, the lightest and thinnest ever from Epson, has been designed specifically for mobile professionals, a statement said.
Weighing 1.7 kg and designed to be extra-slim with a height of just 44 mm, the projectors are smaller than most laptops and slip into a laptop bag.
Using Epson’s 3LCD technology, the projectors feature top-of-the-range brightness at up to 3,000 lumens and a colour light output (CLO) equally as high as the white light output.
This means presentations benefit from vivid natural colours even when projected in full daylight, the statement said.
The high-speed wireless connectivity – included with the EB-1775W and optional with the EB-1760W/1770W – provides freedom from cables. Once connected via the Easy MP Network Projection software, it offers a host of features including multi-screen display, providing the ability to connect up to four projectors from a single computer.
The projectors enable a 60-inch image (16:10 aspect ratio) at a distance of 1.35 metres from the screen.
All models, excluding the EB-1750, offer a native WXGA resolution that displays everything shown on a widescreen computer (Macs and PCs) without needing any adjustments, projecting about 30 per cent more of the on-screen pixels than XGA resolution.
For mobile professionals seeking enhanced usability, the range features a 3-in-1 USB display function – unique to Epson – so users can play both sound and images and control the projector using just one Mac-compatible USB cable.
In addition, bundled Epson software converts PowerPoint slides to enable PC free, multi-media presentations which can be shown directly from a USB flash drive.
“These products are the ultimate in mobile presenting and are expected to be well received in the Middle Eastern markets,” said Khalil El-Dalu, general manager, Epson Middle East.
“Automatic vertical keystone correction is on all models and the EB-1775W also has automatic horizontal keystone correction. It means the image immediately focuses onto any flat surface and automatic horizontal and vertical keystone correction adjusts the shape to give an accurate projection.”
“Operated with a dedicated button, the exclusive Screen Fit function also ensures that projections fit perfectly onto any projection screen with a black frame, so images are always straight and distortion-free in seconds,” El-Dalu added. – TradeArabia News Service
