Xerox reaches out to construction workers
Dubai, August 10, 2010
Xerox Emirates, the leading document management services provider, recently showed its appreciation to construction workers in a new employee engagement and responsible business CSR initiative.
Xerox Emirates and its employees supplied ‘shoe boxes’ to over 250 workers to show their appreciation for the fundamental work they have done in the development of the new upcoming facility located in the International Media Production Zone.
The Shoe Box campaign works on the simple concept of collecting daily-use everyday lifestyle items essential for the workmen.
“We want to recognize the labour force in the UAE who contribute so much to the growth of the cities in which we work, and thus to all of our tomorrows,” said Andrew Hurt, general manager for Xerox Emirates.
“It is time for us to stand up in recognition and do something, however small, to acknowledge the favour. Their efforts are changing the skylines and our Shoe Box campaign appreciates the essential role that the construction teams play in building our foundation and infrastructure that allow us to grow and run our daily businesses.”
“Our employees are one of the most significant building blocks for the success of Xerox Emirates, and the Shoe Box campaign engaged all our employees to unite together and achieve this memorable and fulfilling experience,” Hurt continued.
“We have embedded corporate social responsibility within our values and day to day operations. As a company that has grown and developed alongside the UAE, we have made it our mission to enhance and uplift our surrounding community, both internally and externally,” he added.
All Xerox employees have supplied the 'shoe boxes' used to collect and distribute the donated items of the campaign, a statement said. – TradeArabia News Service
