Sony launches VAIO touchscreen desktop
Dubai, August 3, 2010
Sony Gulf, the regional arm of consumer electronics giant Sony, has launched its new VAIO J series multimedia computer featuring a 21.5 inch full high definition (HD) touchscreen with multi-touch VAIO display.
The new VAIO J Series delivers an uncompromised HD entertainment experience in a beautiful, integrated design that puts unsightly cables out of sight, a statement said.
The computer’s unique ‘loop’ structure offers space underneath the screen to stow the keyboard while watching movies or enjoying music.
The display plus screen dominates the slim, all-in-one design and offers plenty of space to display two full-size web pages side-by-side, according to the statement.
Full HD 1080 resolution and multiple lamp technology offers detailed HD, while the touchscreen also offers an intuitive way to view and interact with the Web, documents and digital media.
The VAIO J series features the latest-generation Intel Core i5-520m processors, integrating clock speeds of 2.40GHz going up to 2.93GHz with turbo boost.
The processors are complemented by NVIDIA GeForce graphics for smooth video playback, gaming and 3D entertainment with a 500GB capacity hard disc.
The media gallery, which allows users to access their media collection at one touch and in HD clarity, tracks a user’s preferences and recommends new content.
Another pre-installed software, YouPaint, is an easy-to-use art package that offers creative fun for kids and parents alike.
There is also a wide array of decorative stamps, which the screen’s multi-touch support enables one to resize and rotate with his/her fingertips. Users can even move and bounce stamps around the screen with exciting motion effects.
The VAIO gate feature provides one-click access to users’ favourite programmes and media via a bar at the top of the desktop.
A dedicated VAIO Care button helps identify and resolve any issues with the computer to maintain it at peak performance. The built-in Bluetooth provides connectivity options for cable-free communication with mobile phones, notebooks, mice and keyboards, printers, digital cameras and game consoles. – TradeArabia News Service
