Mall provides baby changing rooms for men

Dubai, September 27, 2009

Mirdif City Centre will be one of the first malls in the city to provide baby changing rooms for men, to ensure daddies and their kids have a comfortable day out at the mall.

Twenty eight male and female baby changing rooms will be strategically located at the entrances of the mall and the food court areas on Levels 1 and 2, providing safe and hygienic areas for parents and babies in comfort and privacy.

The space will be equipped with a changing station, disposable changing mats, wash basin and nappy vending machine. In addition, the female baby changing rooms will also be equipped with comfortable chairs for breast feeding.

“In the past, nappy changing was predominantly handled by mums and therefore provisions for baby changing stations were restricted to female bathrooms only. However, times are changing and given the multicultural population in Dubai, it was imperative to have nappy changing facilities for men too,” said Yousif Al Ali, vice president of Mirdif City Centre.

Mirdif City Centre is the latest project from the Majid Al Futtaim Group, the name behind flagship developments such as Mall of the Emirates and Deira City Centre.

The mall is scheduled to open in Spring 2010 and is built with the community at its heart. In addition to 430 retail outlets, it will offer dedicated community areas, medical clinics, spa, personal grooming facilities, fitness centre and over 20,000 sqm of unique leisure concepts.-TradeArabia News Service
