LG’s new mobile phones on show
Dubai, April 9, 2009
LG Electronics has embarked on a roadshow to showcase their latest designs and global award-winning technology at Academic City in Dubai.
As part of a 40-day tour, the LG team will be parading their new handsets: the ice cream phone (KF–350), the cookie phone (KP-500) and the ultimate gossip phone (KS-360.
Each day from 9 am to 6 pm, people can visit the LG mobile team at Academic City to test out the new handsets. The show is open to everyone, not just the Academic City students.
Every week there is a competition, with the focus of last week (ending April 3) on the KS360 Gossip Phone. The winner was the fastest finger to SMS.
This week, which ends tomorrow (April 10), is the ice cream phone week – the KF350 – which will find the fastest ice cream eater, and next week is the cookie phone, the KP500, and cookie gaming will decide the winners there.
“We have conducted this road show last month in Knowledge Village and it was a great success,” says H. S. Paik, president of LG Electronics Gulf FZE.
“All three handsets created such hype among the public, all with its own special attractive features. Cookie was coveted, Gossip was interesting and Ice cream was delicious. All had their flavour appeal to different people,” he added.
The LG handsets have already shown themselves to be a top choice with the touch generation, who have chosen the Cookie KP500 for its full touchscreen and Internet access.
The Gossip KS360 has been a ‘model’ model because of its cool colours, its Qwerty keypad for messaging and touchscreen dialling.
The KF350, the ice cream phone, predictably comes in colours of pistachio, white and strawberry pink. It also has large buttons for easy texting and video recording at 15 frames per second and FM radio.
The KP500 Cookie weighs in at just 89 grams, has an internal 48MB memory and 350 hours of standby time.
The LG roadshow runs until April 26 at the Academic City foodcourt area. – TradeArabia News Service
