Mideast weddings market worth $700m

Doha, March 18, 2009

The Middle East wedding industry is worth $700 million a year according to organisers of the International Wedding Exhibition and Fashion Show Doha (iWed) 2009.

iWed, which opened today (March 18) at the Doha Exhibition Centre will end on March 21.

A recent research has shown that the average wedding ceremony in the region costs about $ 50,000.

“Weddings are big business in the Middle East, and to cater for the demand for world-class, luxurious and innovative bridal solutions, Grand Hyatt Doha will be offering exclusive summer packages and customised spa treatments,” said Garry Friend, general manager, Grand Hyatt Doha.

Representatives from Qatar’s newest five-star hotel, Grand Hyatt Doha, are anticipating high demand for the hotel’s luxurious bridal facilities, including the pillarless ballroom, in the run-up to the wedding season, which is traditionally in summer.

The Grand Hyatt Doha summer wedding packages include a choice of either buffet or family style menus created by the hotel’s catering team, a beautifully designed wedding cake and the use of the hotel’s ballroom.

As part of the package, the newlyweds will also have access to the exquisitely designed bridal suite.

The summer wedding package is available for weddings held between June 15 and July 31 for parties with a minimum of 350 guests.

Jaula, the hotel’s spa, will also offer treatments designed exclusively for brides. – TradeArabia News Service
