Givenchy has unveiled its Spring/Summer 2009 women’s ready-to-wear collection which speaks of understated, chic tailoring teamed with exquisite, expensive fabrics.

What really stands out in the collection are Givenchy chief designer Riccardo Tisci shoes which are getting extra-special attention during fashion shows.

Thigh-high leather boots worn with an all-black minidress, the tightest of monochrome print lycra trousers and punky, puff-shouldered jackets feature in the new range.

The new collection has an air of summery freshness about it and the accessories are all-out amazing, said a statement.

Once again leggings take over half leather chaps, half-jeans, or skintight black lycra with white leaf appliqués flaming up the sides.

The collection also uses lace and the frothy shirts are perked up with gold bows and diamanté brooches in the shape of sheriff's badges.

This is a collection where the simple colour palette – black, white, beige, gold, silver, yellow – is offset by rich decorative elements, notably crystal-incrusted buttons and rows of triangular crystals sewn upright around tailored jackets.
