Leading fragrance maker Amouage, may be forced to think of alternatives due to the drastic fall in availability of frankincense, revealed a company official, a report said.

Getting frankincense is becoming difficult due to the decreasing number of frankincense trees, he was quoted in a Gulf News report.

'Frankincense is our USP, but getting the quality that we look for in frankincense for our use is a serious problem,' said David Crickmore, Amouage CEO, on the sidelines of the launch of a new fragrance, 'Lyric', in Muscat.

He admitted that if the problem of procuringfrankincense persists, the company will have to seek other alternatives.
