Baume & Mercier unveils Iléa
Dubai, May 1, 2008
Baume & Mercier unveiled its latest luxury women’s watch at the 18th annual Salon International Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) in Geneva.
Baume & Mercier’s Ilea is made of steel, is round in shape and encrusted with diamonds, polished and satin-brushed surfaces, the new iléa is a study in contrasts in this partially gem-set version, the company said in a statement.
Daintily sculpted at 12 and 6 o’clock, the bezel features a harmonious play on perspectives by merging seamlessly into the curve of the bracelet; while its raised edges, gem-set at 3 and 9 o’clock, highlight the silhouette of this eminently feminine model, it added.
The oval dial graced with a finely guilloché “Curve” motif accentuates the flowing lines and understated elegance of a timeless design. In an ultimate touch of refinement, the crown is discreetly adorned with an offset diamond, said Baume & Mercier.
Ilea is a quartz watch with a 30 mm diameter in polished satin finished steel case with bezel sculpted at 6 and 12 O’clock and set at 3 and 9 O’clock with diamonds totalling 0.34 carats. Polished steel crown set with one diamond (0.02 carats), it added.
Ilea’s dial is made of mother of pearl with “Curve” decor and silvered flange with oval opening. It has Arabic numerals in rhodium-plated appliqués and Dauphine-style rhodium plated hands. This watch is water resistant up to 30 metres.
The bracelet is made of polished satin finished steel and triple folding clasp. The diamonds are round full cut 32/34 Top Wesselton VS quality diamonds, the company said. – TradeArabia News Service
