Abu Dhabi marks India I-Day in style
ABU DHABI, August 16, 2018
Abu Dhabi International Airport yesterday (August 15) sprang a surprise on the passengers coming from both India and Pakistan with sweets and traditional Indian tea as soon as they entered Arrival and Baggage Claim Halls section - all as part of the Independence Day celebrations.
To mark the occasion, the airport authorities decked the Arrival and Baggage Claim Halls section with the flags of both countries - the Indian tricolour of saffron, white and green of Pakistan - and also distributed traditional sweets to 'pleasantly surprised' passengers from both countries who too joined in the celebrations.
The crew also distributed the flags of Pakistan and India which commemorated their Independence Days on August 14 and 15 respectively.
The Abu Dhabi airport authorities said India and Pakistan top the travel destinations from the capital’s airport. In 2017 these destinations generated collectively around 23 per cent of its annual passenger traffic.-TradeArabia News Service
