Egyptian actress Menna Shalabi thanks the audience after winning the Best Actress award for her breath-taking performance in ‘Nawara’ in the Muhr Feature category.

The movie directed by Egyptian Hala Khalil also stars Mahmoud Hemeda and Sherine Reda.

The story takes place on the eve of the 2011 uprising, and centres around Nawara, a woman in her twenties who works as a housemaid in a big villa at a luxury compound.

During the absence of the landlord, she invites her fiancé, and together they enjoy a taste of the life of the rich and famous.

Nawara was one of five Egyptian film productions that competed for the DIFF Muhr Awards.
