Borouge, a leading petrochemical company that provides innovative, value creating plastics solutions, showcased its latest range of differentiated polyolefin grades for infrastructure, energy and advanced packaging applications at Plastex, the 16th International Middle East and North Africa Exhibition for Plastic Industries, held in Cairo, Egypt.

"There is no place better than Plastex to reinforce our continued commitment and support to our customers in Egypt and the Mena region and introduce them to our increasing portfolio of creative plastics solutions," said Wim Roels, CEO of Borouge. "Here we can meet with key players in the Mena plastics industry where we exchange perspectives and strengthen our leading market position as a partner of choice in this part of the world."

Ahmed Al Shamsi, Senior Vice President Regional MEAE, stressed the importance of Egypt to Borouge as one of the fastest growing polymer markets and the largest consumer in Africa and the second in the Middle East after Saudi Arabia.

"The Egyptian plastics market is important to Borouge. We have a long history in this market going back to 2002 with our very first order for products from our site in Ruwais placed by an Egyptian customer who still buys up to date. I am proud to say we have a loyal customer base in Egypt which we are keen to meet their needs.

Being at Plastex gives us the chance to meet our current and potential customers and ensure our continuous support to them with innovative plastics solutions and attract more potential ones," said Al Shamsi.
