France-based ARTS Energy, a leading battery manufacturer, will be presenting its new generation of nickel-metal hydride (Ni-MH) batteries for professional autonomous solar energy solutions and backup applications at an upcoming event in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

The event will take place from January 15 to 18, at the WFES & IWS trade fair.

ARTS Energy's latest generation of Ni-MH batteries are exceptionally robust in very warm environments (up to 85°C) and boast a 10-year lifetime when used in outdoor applications in the Middle East, said a statement.

Ni-MH is particularly well suited to autonomous solar applications in the Middle East (Solar Street Lights, Road and Urban Signage, etc), which are very demanding, it said.

But this new generation of batteries also performs extremely well in backup applications (eg: Telecom), as well as applications involving a high number of cycles (eg: daily battery use to reduce main grid electricity bills, data-centres back up).

ARTS Energy was highlighted during the last visit of the French President Macron in the UAE, as a potential future partner for the sustainable development of the UAE, due to: 10 years life in outdoor applications, associated with renewable sources of energy; green battery technology (RoHs – no heavy metals); robust up to +85°C – no electronics; low TCO, maintenance free during 10 years.
