Oman to speed up Tayseer gas field development

MUSCAT, December 27, 2016

The Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) plans to accelerate the development of its Tayseer gas field in southern Oman, a report said.

“Tayseer is a very nice development, for which we are mobilising the early development facilities very quickly,” PDO managing director Raoul Restucci was quoted as saying in an Oman Observer report.

“We have done the exploration appraisal, and we are at the moment accelerating early development facilities.”

“We have already started to invite tenders on this, so you are going to see a very accelerated development programme for testing surface, and that will help us determine how many development wells are needed,” Restucci added.

Tayseer gas field flowed gas at the rate of around 1.3 million cu m per day and condensate of around 900 cu m per day during the testing f the TY-1 well, the report said.

“The Rabab-Harweel (Integrated Project – RHIP) continues to progress well, while Yibal Khuff (is the subject of) major design executive follow through activities,” Restucci said.
