Dolphin Energy achieves major production milestone

ABU DHABI, February 4, 2016

Abu Dhabi-based Dolphin Energy has reached a major production milestone of six trillion standard cu ft (scf), since it began operations in 2007, according to a report.

The Dolphin Gas Project is meeting 30 per cent of the UAE's energy requirements and delivering significant volumes of natural gas to each of the country's seven emirates, said the Emirates News Agency (WAM) report.

"This milestone is significant because it demonstrates the important role Dolphin Energy continues to play in sustaining energy security in both countries, driving industrial growth and economic development as well as supporting the transition to a low carbon future. To have met this cumulative production total is a source of enormous pride," Adel Ahmed Albuainain, chief executive officer, Dolphin Energy, was quoted as saying.

The production total was achieved in spite of a challenging year when three new export gas compressors were commissioned at Dolphin Energy 's upstream facilities to support the six compressors that are already in operation, said the report.

The company is also on course to register 100 per cent plant availability at the end of February for the seventh consecutive year, it added.
