Oman restarts key oil refinery after maintenance

MUSCAT, January 9, 2016

Oman Oil Refineries and Petroleum Industries Company (Orpic) has begun a restart of its Sohar oil refinery after minor maintenance, it said on Wednesday.

The company did not say when the maintenance had started in the announcement it made on its twitter account.

Orpic had put the refinery on an emergency shutdown, Platts reported earlier Wednesday.

Sohar, which has processing capacity of 116,000 barrels per day (bpd) of Omani crude, is scheduled for a complete shutdown for 45 days' maintenance in March.-Reuters
