Power-Gen to tackle key regional issues

Crucial technical and strategic issues affecting the region’s power generation industry will come under the spotlight at the upcoming annual Power-Gen Middle East Conference and Exhibition (PGME) in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
The event is set to take place October 4-6 at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (Adnec).
Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy of the UAE, will formally launch the conference and exhibition with an official ribbon cutting ceremony. Nigel Blackaby, Director of Conferences, PennWell Corporation will be giving the introduction and opening remarks.
Visitors will be able to experience firsthand an unprecedented and comprehensive showcase of the latest services and technologies and benefit from unrivalled networking and business opportunities.

Power industry professionals are invited to register for a technical tour at one of the world’s most sustainable eco-neighbourhoods, Masdar City. The city, which is designed to reduce energy and water consumption, features an integrated, smart transportation network that makes the community accessible and livable. The tour is open to all event participants and is scheduled to take place on October 3.
Transco, a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi Water & Electricity Authority (ADWEA) responsible for developing, operating and maintaining the high voltage power transmission and bulk water transmission networks within the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, has recently announced their participation at PGME 2015 as a Silver Sponsor.
The UAE’s Ministry of Energy (MOENR), with support from key regional organisations including the League of Arab States, has officially announced the hosting of the 8th Exhibition of Electrical Industries in the Arab World (EEIAW) under the theme Minimise Energy, Maximise Energy Efficiency, following a recent partnership with PennWell Corporation. Taking place in the UAE for the first time, the event will be co-located with the 13th annual Power-Gen Middle East Conference and Exhibition.
The 8th EEIAW event will discuss the role of the League of Arab States based on the Arab Strategy for Renewable Energy, and on Schemes for Upgrading the Efficiency of Electric Power and Rationalisation. An Interactive workshop hosted by the MOENR will also be held on in conjunction with the exhibition and conference.
The bi-annual event is supported by the Arab Ministerial Council for Electricity (AMCE) and will be held in cooperation with the Arab Industrial Development and Mining Organisation and the Arab Union of Electricity. – TradeArabia News Service
