Adipec 2015 awards open for nominations
ABU DHABI, April 27, 2015
The Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (Adipec) awards is open for nominations and will close on July 30.
The awards will once again recognise excellence in energy, and is returning this year with two new categories that play a pivotal role in advancing the oil and gas industry – the Best Practice Award, and the Best Dissertation of the Year Award.
It celebrates achievement across eight categories, and are considered a highly coveted accomplishment in the energy sector.
The shortlist will be announced on October 12 and the winners and runners-up will be revealed at the Adipec Gala Awards Dinner on Adipec’s opening night. The event will run from November 9 to 12 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.
Ali Khalifa Al Shamsi, Adipec 2015 chairman, and strategy and coordination director at Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc), said: “Adipec is an established leading global energy event, and the Adipec Awards carry the same prestige as an objective benchmark for world-class innovation.

The new ‘Best Practice Award’ will recognise the creation and successful implementation of an initiative that offers improvement to an internal business process, structure, or culture, and the ‘Best Dissertation of the Year Award’ will recognise exceptional academic work linked to the oil and gas industry.
Abdul Munim Saif Al Kindy, chairman, Adipec Awards, and chief executive officer, Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Oil Operations (Adco), said: “Corporate policies that promote sustainability and efficiency, and research that empowers us with critical knowledge, are key to further developing the energy sector. These two new categories have been introduced to recognize those who have made great strides in both.

Meanwhile, the Oil and Gas Woman of the Year Award will recognise a female whose career has progressed at a rapid pace, demonstrating the empowerment process in her company that allowed her to reach her aspirations.
The remaining five categories for 2015 are Best Oil and Gas Mega Project, Best Oil and Gas Innovation or Technology (Surface or Sub-surface), Best Oil and Gas Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) / Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Project or Initiative, Best Oilfield Services Company (Local, Regional or International), and Young Adipec Engineer.
The Adipec Awards’ judging process is upheld by the Regional Select Jury (RSJ), which comprises senior professionals from across the oil and gas industry, including national and international oil companies, academic institutions, and professional associations. - TradeArabia News Service
