MANAMA, November 3, 2014
Bahrain Petroleum (Bapco) organised a Business Resilience Management (BRM) overview session, conducted by the Emergency Planning College from the UK.
Bapco chief executive Dr Peter Bartlett opened the session at the Bapco Club in Awali. Present were Bapco deputy chief executive for refining and marketing Ebrahim Talib and a number of the company's management team members, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.
"The BRM overview session was held with the objective of increasing our employees' awareness about the importance of risk and crisis/business continuity management discipline, and its role in their day-to-day responsibilities," said Dr Bartlett.
"As Bapco prepares for the future, it is critical to be aware of and prepare mitigation and business continuity plans to achieve its objectives and aspirations.
"This is in line with the company's continuous efforts to adhere to international standards and boost its workforce's know-how of the latest industrial advancements to enable them to continue generating world-class output," he said.
The session was also attended by employees from other companies under the nogaholding umbrella including Banagas, Tatweer, Bafco and the National Oil and Gas Authority. - TradeArabia News Service
