Bapco achieves new safety milestone
Manama, July 17, 2014
Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco) and contractor employees achieved a new record in safety by completing one million-hours without a lost time injury (LTI) on July 8.
Bapco's deputy chief executive for refining and marketing and chairman of the environment, health and safety (EHS) committee Ebrahim Talib said the important milestone reflects the ongoing efforts and dedication of Bapco and contractor employees to working safely, reported the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.
"As we congratulate ourselves on our continuing excellent level of safety performance, we must also reinforce our vigilance and efforts in the prevention of injuries," he said.
Talib expressed pride in Bapco's continued pioneering role as a key supporter of the environment, health and safety drives not only on the company's level but throughout the entire kingdom.
"We must direct our efforts in deploying BOOST, the 4-Keys to Safety and OSOOL Bapco and treat them as part of our daily activities.
"We urge everyone to remain alert in adhering to safe work procedures and practices to prevent injuries this year and to continue to strive for excellence in our safety journey," Talib added. - TradeArabia News Service
