Los Angeles, September 3, 2009

Occidental Petroleum, a US-based oil and gas exploration and production company, has promoted Isam al Zadjali to the position of president and general manager of Occidental of Oman.

A national of Oman, he succeeds Glenn Vangolen, who will relocate to Abu Dhabi as vice president, International Business Development.

'I am delighted to promote Isam al Zadjali to this very important position in a country where Oxy has a long history of growth -- not only of our oil and gas business, but also in the development of our national work force,' said Dr Ray R Irani, chairman and chief executive officer of Occidental Petroleum Corporation.

Al Zadjali joined Oxy in 2001 and has served as deputy general manager of Occidental of Oman since 2006. He has a degree in petroleum engineering from Pennsylvania State University. As general manager, he will report to Sandy Lowe, president, international production, Oxy Oil and Gas.

Glenn Vangolen has held numerous positions in the US and the Middle East during his 28-year career with Oxy. He will report to John Winterman, executive vice president, Oxy Oil and Gas. – TradeArabia News Service
