Major Sharjah gas cylinders deal sealed
Sharjah, August 23, 2009
The Sharjah Economic Development Department (Sedd) has signed a contract with an industrial services company for large supply of liquid gas cylinders that comply with its standards in order to meet market demand.
According to the contract Haifa Industrial is to provide Sedd with 7,086 48-litre liquid gas cylinders with an overall value of Dh900,000, according to a report in our sister newspaper Gulf Daily News.
All gas cylinders must be delivered before the end of this year.
'Sedd is always watching the market through its specialised teams to make sure consumer demand is met,' Sedd control and commercial protection department official Saif Ibrahim said.
'Our work has two bases: first, to make sure that products and services are provided according to international quality standards; second, to make sure that safety standards concerning certain daily-use products, including liquid gas cylinders, are applied.'
'This agreement comes after in-depth studies conducted by the Sedd to evaluate the gas cylinders currently used in the emirate, as these cylinders are to be replaced.'
