Bapco wins top safety certificate
Manama, July 1, 2009
Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco) has received the Certificate of Achievement from the British Safety Council (BSC).
The certificate is seen as a reflection of the company’s ongoing commitment to improving corporate health and safety, said a statement.
Bapco previously received the International Safety Award 2008 from the BSC. The International Safety Award is acknowledged internationally as a powerful motivator for achieving high safety standards.
The latest accomplishment follows several significant recent health and safety achievements for Bapco, including achieving BSC five-star rating in health and safety management. It is only the second company in the Gulf region to receive this accolade, it said.
Previously, Bapco received the Robert W Campbell award for business excellence through safety, health and environmental management in 2007 and was selected by the Wharton Business School at the University of Pennsylvania as a case study for teaching the business benefits of good safety.
Bapco employees also recently achieved one million employee-hours without a Lost Time Accident (LTA). –TradeArabia News Service
