Total Jordan opens its first service stations

Amman, April 23, 2009

Total Jordan, a unit of Total, one of the world’s major oil and gas groups, started its operations in Jordan with the opening of its first three service stations.

The service stations are located at Al-Jubaiha and Sweileh stations on Queen Rania Street and Al Abdali station.

Like all Total service-stations worldwide, they are characterised by their state-of-the-art technology, speed, and accuracy in service, in addition to maintaining public safety and the environment.

The managing director of Total Jordan, Arnaud Guichard, said that these three stations signify the company’s interest in Jordan and that they represent the first tangible elements of Total’s long term investment strategy in Jordan.

“Total Jordan has brought in the very latest multi-product dispensers with electronic automated gauging systems,” said Mutaz Nazzal, operations manager, Total Jordan.

“The stations are designed to allow vapor recovering, minimizing potential hazards and upholding our high safety standards,” he added.

Commercial manager Hassan Tawfik expressed the company’s delight at the public’s reception of this new kind of service stations, saying “our sales have already exceeded our target, and, more importantly, customers are pleased with the services we offer.”

Total has activities in more than 130 countries, with nearly 17,000 service-stations worldwide. – TradeArabia News Service
