Dubai, February 9, 2009
Middle East Electricity (MEE) 2009, a leading energy event in the region, opened to a record turnout with over 1,000 local, regional and international exhibitors taking part.
The event was officially inaugurated on Sunday by Dubai World Trade Centre chief executive officer Helal Saeed Almarri.
MEE 2009 also features 20 major national pavilions – a comprehensive showcase of products and services from every aspect of the energy industry.
“We’ve seen a strong flow of visitors since the show opened, in line with our projection that more than 49,000 key trade professionals from over 98 countries will visit the show this year,” said Sarah Woodbridge, group director - Exhibitions, IIR Middle East - event organisers.
“Pre-registered visitors are up 25 per cent, proving just how buoyant the Middle East energy industry is, and underlining the importance that governments throughout the region are placing on essential infrastructure – the one sector that remains recession-proof,” she pointed out.
MEE 2009 runs through to Tuesday, and is open from 10am to 7pm. All sectors of the energy industry are covered, with special focus areas including water, lighting, new and renewable and nuclear energy.
Leaders from every sector of the industry are using the exhibition to showcase their latest product and service innovations, bringing invaluable expertise to the region.-TradeArabia News Service
