Six new Jaguars for Dubai Motor Show

DUBAI, November 6, 2017

Jaguar will put on a stunning display of six new vehicles at the Dubai International Motor Show, taking place next week.

The show will be held form November 14 - 18 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

In what is its largest line-up presented at the show to date, the British premium car manufacturer has confirmed that six new vehicles are making an appearance for the first time in the Middle East region, including a new record breaking model which is one of the brand’s highly anticipated products in this region. The identity of this vehicle has not been revealed.

XF SPORTBRAKE
Making its regional debut at the Dubai International Motorshow is the Jaguar XF Sportbrake, which offers the enticing prospect of sports car dynamics and sports car looks combined with a hugely practical 1,700-litre load space.

With all-wheel drive and All-Surface Progress Control, the XF Sportbrake keeps driver and occupants safe whatever the weather conditions, while Cabin Air Ionisation uses advanced technologies to provide fresh, clean air to the interior that has been proven to benefit hair and skin condition.

Yet more useful technology comes in the form of Gesture Control, which allows the user to operate the panoramic sun blind with the wave of a hand while driving or open the boot with a swipe of the foot when arms are otherwise occupied with, for example, while holding shopping bags.

The already capacious cabin space feels even more light and airy thanks to the enormous panoramic roof that is the biggest in its segment and which allows sunlight to flood in, while those with an active lifestyle will appreciate the two-tonne towing capacity which is ample for a horsebox, jet ski, trailer or boat.

PROJECT 8
The Jaguar XE SV Project 8 is likely to appeal to the car collector whose passion is limited edition vehicles with explosive performance. Just 300 limited editions of this four-door sedan with supercar capabilities will be hand-built by Jaguar’s Special Vehicle Operations division, guaranteeing its exclusivity. The most powerful Jaguar road car ever produced, Project 8 features the most highly tuned version of Jaguar Land Rover’s 5.0-litre Supercharged V8 petrol powertrain, which in this form develops 600PS. This formidable engine is mated to Jaguar’s All-Wheel Drive system which together with motorsport-derived aerodynamics allow this extraordinary machine to deliver a top speed of 322km/h and a 0-100km/h acceleration time of just 3.7 seconds.

XJR 575
Not far behind Project 8 in the performance stakes is the XJR575 which, with its mighty 575PS, has more power than any previous XJ.

This high-performance sedan accelerates from 0-100km/h in just 4.4 seconds – and from 0-300km/h in 44 seconds thanks to its 5.0-litre V8 Supercharged engine which in addition to its impressive horsepower figure also produces a massive 700Nm of torque. The addition of an Electronic Active Differential enables all that power to be precisely controlled as well as maximising traction while intelligent safety measures including Lane Keep Assist and Driver Condition Monitoring are also part of the overall package.

The XJR575 follows Jaguar’s long-established tradition of offering sedans with luxurious refinement and sumptuous interior comfort coupled with uprated performance and unique design touches.

Jaguar F-TYPE 2.0L Turbo
The Jaguar F-TYPE has been a stunning success since being launched with a 3.0-litre V6 engine. On display at the Dubai International Motor Show, however, will be the latest F-TYPE now benefitting from Jaguar’s turbocharged 2.0-litre, four-cylinder Ingenium petrol engine producing a hugely impressive 300PS and 400Nm. That figure makes it the most powerful four-cylinder engine ever seen in a production Jaguar and a power unit that is capable of propelling the F-TYPE from 0 – 100km/h in a mere 5.7 seconds and on to a maximum speed of 250km/h. Yet the newcomer offers a fuel consumption reduction of more than 16 per cent compared to its V6 sibling, with CO2 emissions reduced to just 163g/km.

Weight too has been reduced by 52kg while bespoke chassis tuning delivers even greater agility. With a maximum 400Nm of torque at the driver’s disposal together with an 8-speed Quickshift transmission, the 2.0 litre F-TYPE responds to throttle input superbly throughout the entire rev range.

Jaguar I–TYPE
Another very special Jaguar that can be seen on selected roads around the world is the second generation of Jaguar Racing’s I-TYPE. The roads in question, however, form the various street circuits at which Panasonic Jaguar Racing’s all-electric Formula E race car competes. Designed and engineered to deliver an optimum balance between power and efficiency, the I-TYPE accelerates from 0-100km/h in a stunning 2.9 seconds and can regenerate up to 150kW of energy under braking to extend its range.

On race weekends throughout practice and qualifying sessions, maximum power is permitted. During races, however, all cars run in power-saving race mode with the option to deploy their 'Push-to-Pass' which delivers maximum power for a limited period of 5 seconds.

The amount of energy that can be delivered to the Motor-Generator Unit (MGU) by the Rechargeable Energy Storage System (RESS) batteries is limited to 28 kW which is strictly monitored by the FIA. Formula E has quickly established itself as an exciting addition to the motorsport calendar, and if you’re not sure what all the fuss is about you’ll get the chance to actually feel what it’s like to pilot the I-TYPE race car through an immersive virtual reality experience at DIMS.

There will also be a sixth all-new car present on the Jaguar stand at the show, one which is making its Middle East debut but whose identity is not currently being revealed, in addition to the Jaguar F-PACE that was recently named ‘World Car of the Year’.  - TradeArabia News Service
