The redesigned Toyota Land Cruiser has seen double digit growth in the UAE since its launch last October, with sales increasing by an impressive 19 per cent compared to the same period last year, according to Al-Futtaim Motors.

The winner of Wheels’ “SUV of the Year” and EVO ME’s “4x4 of the Year” awards has undergone many changes including a new interior layout dubbed ‘Life Control Layout’, a class-first 8-speed automatic transmission, Toyota’s flagship Safety Sense P, and advanced tech features.

“It’s no surprise that the new Land Cruiser has been welcomed so warmly by drivers in the UAE, whether they are existing customers looking to upgrade or new customers joining the Toyota family, the new Land Cruiser brings with it many category-firsts that make it the undisputed leader in its class,” said Saud Abbasi, managing director of Toyota at Al-Futtaim Motors.

“Toyota has listened to its customers and provided them with a vehicle that matches all their needs, no matter where they are. What’s also impressive is that this growth has crossed over to the Land Cruiser Pick-Up, which has seen a staggering 42.2 per cent growth for the same period last year, by all means a magnificent feat,” explained Abbasi.

The 2016 Land Cruiser is available in three different engine choices to fit customers’ needs, including the 4.0L V6, 4.6L V8, and 5.7L V8, the last of which is mated to the first-in-class 8-speed automatic transmission. Grades available include EXR, GXR and VXR, said a company statement.

The new Land Cruiser is available across all Toyota showrooms in the UAE in 4.0L, 4.6L and 5.7L engines, with prices starting at Dh 209,000 ($56,900), Dh 229,000 and Dh 249,000 respectively, the statement added. - TradeArabia News Service
