New Ferrari FF makes debut in Bahrain

MANAMA, March 13, 2015

A one-of-a-kind Bahrain edition of the new Ferrari FF made its debut yesterday (March 12) at the Euro Motors showroom, in Sitra.

The car is one of five designed for the Gulf market, with other bespoke models being unveiled in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the UAE and Qatar, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

It is called the FF Cristallo and will cost BD176,000 ($463,854) to drive home.

“Five FF were designed with a specific, bespoke concept: That of gemstones which represent the unique value and beauty of the Tailor Made programme,” said Euro Motors in a statement.

“This project was exclusively developed for the Arabian Gulf and each car is one of a kind.”

Powered by a 660-horsepower mid-front-mounted V12 engine, the FF launches from zero to 100kmph in 3.7 seconds.

It has a top speed of 335kmph and is the latest in a programme designed to create individual cars that began in the 1950s and 1960s.

“Bahrain's individual finish is named Cristallo (Crystal) with details that recall the cool, transparent lucidity of quartz,” said Euro Motors.

“The exterior is painted in a subtle silver hue (Grigio Abu Dhabi) with a matte surface finish, set off by diamond-cut forged wheel rims and a full-length dark glass sunroof.

“The cabin features rich, perforated dark blue Sterling leather upholstery while the seat backs, central tunnel and door panels are in highly wear-resistant, perforated Giardini blue Microprestige fabric.

“The seat inserts, headrests and arm rest are trimmed in contrasting silver Kadvrat Blitz canvas.

“The inner door handles along with the grab handles on the central tunnel bridge are in carbon-fibre with the lower surfaces finished in dark blue.

“The boot lining is in blue Microprestige fabric and the boot floor is in carbon-fibre.”

The car was unveiled by Euro Motors executives including general manager Paul Yates to a select group of media representatives and customers yesterday.

Ferrari Global Network Development Management head Wilhelm Hegger is arriving in Bahrain today (March 13) to showcase the new car at Bahrain International Circuit. - TradeArabia News Service
